We have begun a new week and as our day draws to a close, let us prepare for tomorrow by reflecting on the things we are thankful for.

It is a new day, and a new week. The things of our past have passed away. This is the moment we have been given. So let us be thankful and face the day renewed, refreshed, and restored.

It is easy to forget that our bodies and minds need literal rest. Not just because it's good practice to rest, but because God also commanded it (Exodus 20:8-11). With each of our morning and evening disciplines we are striving to find peace and rest every day in Jesus. But there is something special about resting from our work.

As our day draws to a close our journey brings us to a point of reflection and preparation for tomorrow. Despite how our day went, we didn't walk it alone.

Lately I have become convicted about my lack of self discipline in pretty much all areas of my life. As I've meditated on the concept of discipline and how it currently looks in my life I have come to a startling and helpful realization: I am not prepared to be self disciplined because my mind is not prepared. Thus, the predicament I find myself in.
