A Declaration of Independence from Situationism

When in the course of Church history it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the ideological bands which have connected them with another and to assume credibility and obedience to God despite the opinions of mankind that they should declare the causes which compel them to the separation.

We hold these truths to be self-evident, that Gods word was not created equal with man’s, that the Creator has endowed us with wisdom and righteousness in His Word and that His Word extends from Genesis through the book of Revelation. –That to secure these truths, Pastors, and apostles, and elders are instituted from among the Body of Christ, deriving their righteous truths from the counsel of Gods Word alone. –That whenever any member of the Body of Christ from celebrity pastor to lay members of the body become destructive of these truths, it is the righteous calling of these Pastors, apostles, and elders to correct and rebuke it, and to direct them back to the truth in God’s Word, once again laying its foundation on such principles.

Prudence, indeed, will dictate that the truths of God long established should not be changed in light of one’s situation; and accordingly all experience has shown that mankind is more disposed to suffer, while evils are sufferable than to right themselves by abolishing the “situational theology” and “situational ethics” they are accustomed. But when a long train of abuses and usurpations of God’s Word, it is their command of God, it is their duty to the Almighty, to throw off such ideologies, and to provide safeguards for the future of God’s Bride in America. –Such has been the patient sufferance of these faithful few, and such is now the necessity which constrains them to reclaim credibility and pursue obedience to God. The history of the present Church in America is a history of repeated injuries and usurpations, all having in direct object the establishment of a false gospel over the Church. The offenses of the American Church against God are chronicled in literary archives both in print and digitally and can be easily called upon as evidence of these truths.

In every stage of these offenses against God we have petitioned for redress in the most humble of terms. Our repeated petitions have been answered only by repeated injury. A Church, whose character is thus marked by every act which may define the lost of this world, is unfit to speak truth to the lost of this world.

Nor have we been wanting in the attentions of our fellow brothers and sisters of the Church. We have warned them from time to time of attempts by those who speak falsely from their pulpits to extend a false gospel and thus a false salvation experience to them. We have reminded them of the circumstances of our establishment as a people bound by the blood of Christ and grounded in the truth of God’s Word. We have appealed to their biblical sensibilities and the Holy Spirit that ought to be found in them, and we have implored them to disavow these usurpations and untruths, which would inevitably interrupt our connections and unification as a Body. They too have been deaf to the voice of God. We must, therefore, acquiesce in the necessity, which denounces our separation, and hold them, as we hold the rest of mankind, as the lost and blind of this world imploring them to return to the foundations of truth in God’s Word.

We, therefore, the Representatives of God Almighty to the Church of America, in general agreement upon God’s Word, assembled, appealing to the God for the rectitude of our intentions, do, in the Name and Authority of God, solemnly publish and declare, that the Word of God stands true yesterday, today, and forever. And that the faithful men and women of God have absolved our allegiance to an ideology that has utterly destroyed the American Church, and that all ideological connection between ourselves and situationism ought to be totally dissolved, and that as honorable and faithful followers of Christ, have the full power of the Holy Spirit in us to discern the truth, to speak the truth, to live the truth, and to call the wayward back to the truth. And for the support of this declaration, with a firm reliance on the protection of God, we mutually pledge to each other our lives, our hearts, and our honor before God.
