I'm not sure about you, but I've had a rough week. I was in the mountains over the weekend to play some music with my band (I'm the bassist, BTW) and do some solo music and when I began my trip home (with my kids in the car) I hit the biggest deer 5 miles from my starting point. Needless to say, I didn't get any further.
Back in the day I used to confuse "self deprecation" for "humility". That is, until one day my uncle pulled me aside and said, "I see what you're doing and you need to stop. If someone compliments you just say 'Thank you' and move on. You don't need to point out your failures or put yourself down. Just accept the compliment and move on."
