The time to relax is when you don't have time for it. ~ Sydney J. Harris

I know this week we've spent most of our time talking about rebuilding broken relationships, but the sad reality is there are some relationships that are toxic and doing more harm than good by remaining in that relationship.

Know what's hard? Not dwelling on an offense you have received. You sit and pour over it, replaying the events over and over in your head.

The first step, to be honest, was terrifying. I didn't know what he'd say, I didn't know how the first meeting after 10 years would go, and I wasn't sure I even really wanted a relationship with him. I just knew that he was my father, that I missed him in my life (and the life of my family), and that I needed to figure out a way forward. So I took a step toward him.

Sometimes, other people address a subject better than me and I want to simply point people to that resource. In this case, Dr. Caroline Leaf, a renown Christian neuroscientist, has a podcast episode where she talks about facing your fear - and I'm doing just that - pointing to her.
