The TrueDisciples Podcast has been going fairly strong since January of this year with weekly podcasts coming out, special guests, and lots of amazing content out there for you to listen to and be challenged by.
Due to various scheduling conflicts to record episodes where we are both present that have recently become a new challenge, primarily due to the fact that I now have a full time job that (for the moment) is a little less flexible than my last job, we began to think a little outside of the box to come up with some ideas on how we can keep putting out quality resources, but be able to work around our varying schedules for recording.
Step 1 started today…and that was to create a new segment called Drive In Devotional where there will be a specific focus on two areas:
- Scripture reading – We will start in Genesis chapter 1 and read the Bible from cover to cover one chapter at a time. Of course, this may vary when we get to chapters like Psalm 119 which are around 170 verses in length. So those times may require an episode to be broken up in to a couple of parts.
- Prayer – These will be prayers that I have written, that come from scripture, are pulled from spiritual forefathers writings, or come from modern day pastors.
These episodes will be between 10 and 15 minutes in length and will not include much if any commentary as we want to allow the scripture and prayer to be the main thing. There may be some brief commentary as more of a transition between the scripture to the time of prayer. But that’s probably going to be about it.
Our goal, or hope at least, is that these short episodes focusing on scripture and prayer, will serve as a great way to spend some time with God on your way into the office, or as you’re drinking your morning coffee, or where ever you may be doing whatever it is you may be doing.
Really, we just want the reading of God’s word and prayer to become an important piece of your day, and if we can help you with that by providing this new segment, we’re going to do it.
We also invite you to use our email address to send us any prayer requests that you may have that you would like others to join you in praying through.
That email address is: firstname.lastname@example.org
We have some other exciting things coming as well, and I’ll make sure that we post some updates as I get that segment squared away and ready to publish – which I can at least confirm will be coming out on Tuesday and Thursdays, and will be smaller bite sized chunks of Pastor Kevin Baird’s more reformation minded sermons.
Regular episodes with both Pastor Kevin and myself will also be coming as well, but will be released based on our availability to record together.
So go out, subscribe to the podcast on the various podcast platforms like iTunes, iHeart Radio, Google Play, TuneIn, and SoundCloud.com. Share with your friends, family, and co-workers.
And above all of things, #MakeHisNameGreat.
