The TrueDisciples Podcast – January in Review

The TrueDisciples Podcast (aka the TDP) has just recently completed our first month of podcasting. We had set a goal for ourselves to hit 500 plays for the month. By 11:59PM on the 31st, we had hit 453 plays. SO CLOSE!

As of today, however, on February 2, 2018 – we are officially at 500 plays! WOO HOO!

We host our podcast through SoundCloud.com which is a very handy website. In addition to using them as a host site, we have also subscribed to their statistics and have learned some very amazing things with regards to the reach of our podcast.

Before I share what we learned, I wanted to note that we are not a large church. We’re not even a medium sized church. We are a small church based out of Charleston SC with a heart for God’s word and a message for our nation and the nations as a whole.

The first thing we learned was that at this point our number one listening city is not Charleston SC which is where we are based out of…but rather, San Francisco, California!! Who would’ve thought that would even be possible? Especially when you consider the content of our podcast and the culture of a place like San Francisco.

The second thing we learned is that we are having a national impact through our podcast. We are currently being played in 28 out of 50 states in the US! That’s over half of the country that we have listeners representing.

The third thing we learned was that we are actually having a global impact through our podcast. For instance, we having listeners from 10 total countries (including the USA). The 9 countries outside of the US are as follows: France, Nicaragua, Ireland, Russia, the UK, India, Belgium, the Netherlands, and Japan. France is the top country of listeners for the TDP outside of the US.

Perhaps this doesn’t sound like much to the seasoned podcast veteran, but for us this is a huge deal and a great deal of encouragement that what we have to say is being heard.

That said, the fourth and final thing we have learned is that the size of your church does not determine the breadth and depth of your impact. In other words, when you are working for the good of the Kingdom and are doing it in the power of the Holy Spirit, anything (as scripture states) is possible.

Over the course of the month of January we covered many topics:

  • First, we established a little bit about who we are as the TDP hosts.
  • Second, we tried to provide some answers to common accusations made toward the continuationist group by cessationists and begin building a foundation of spirit empowerment that we feel is necessary for effective reformation. [Part 1] [Part 2]
  • Third and finally, talked about the forgotten 5-fold ministry offices of the Apostles and the Prophets and the roles they must play in order to have effective reformation. [Part 1] [Part 2]

All in all it was a great month!

We kicked of February today with our latest podcast titled, “Is This Fire Really Strange? Unpacking Acts 2 and Tongues“. Who knows…perhaps John MacArthur will catch wind of this podcast and reach out to engage us in some friendly conversation among brothers! You DO NOT want to miss this episode that we will be carrying into another episode next week.

And for those of you who are still waiting for us to get to the reformation stuff…don’t you worry! It is coming. We felt it necessary to spend a few episodes introducing ourselves and building a framework and foundation by which we feel we are going to experience the most effective reformation..and that is through a Spirit Empowered reformation.

So hang with us…we are getting to these things in episodes in the very near future!

We REALLY appreciate our listeners and we thank you for taking time out of your day to listen to us. If you have any feedback, questions, etc…please feel free to reach out to us at truedisciplespodcast@gmail.com and we will be happy to get back with you as soon as we can.

Until next time…go out and MAKE HIS NAME GREAT!
